Manage your default web browser application with Browse via me

Browse via me allows you to manage your default web browser, register and view your browsing history and bookmarks.

Basic Features

• Browse via me extracts URLs from text copied to the clipboard and opens them in the configured default web browser. It is also possible to set Browse via me itself as the default browser.
• Within its internal browser, there are settings to prevent writing back to the clipboard.

Main Functions: History and Bookmarks

• URLs accessed via Browse via me are stored similarly to those in a typical web browser's history list.
• The history list can be reordered, individual entries deleted, or all entries cleared.
• The list does not only display URLs; upon receiving a URL, Browse via me attempts to retrieve the page title associated with it.
• Entries from history can be copied to bookmarks, which can be accessed by flicking the screen to the left to reveal the bookmark panel.

Supported Browsers

• If additional browsers are required, support will be provided only for applications supporting URL schemes accessible via appending URLs.
• Some supported browsers may share the same URL scheme across multiple applications; in such cases, the specific application launched cannot be guaranteed.

Internal Browser

• The default browser within Browse via me is its own internal browser.
• This internal browser clears cache and cookies (except when configured otherwise) at startup, providing an optimal testing environment.
• In case of background memory warnings, the internal browser is closed when returning to the foreground to prevent crashes.

iCloud Backup

• History and bookmarks in Browse via me are automatically backed up to iCloud.
• If multiple devices are signed into the same iCloud account, they share a unified history and bookmark list.
• Due to iCloud storage limits, older entries may be automatically deleted when exceeding capacity.
• The most recent clipboard URL addresses on the device are prioritized over iCloud synchronization for list display.

URL Scheme Integration

• Browse via me supports its own URL scheme. For example:
• bvmhttp://www.apple.com/
• bvmhttps://twitter.com/
• Accessing these URLs launches Browse via me, which processes the URL and opens it in your default web browser efficiently. The app itself loads only minimal interface elements, immediately passing control to the default browser.

Other Considerations

• Browse via me does not guarantee full compliance with all web browser specifications or behaviors.
• The functionality of Browse via me may be partially or entirely unavailable following updates of supported web browsers or related applications.
• An optional paid add-on exists to block advertisements within Browse via me.
